Established before the founding of Dalereckoning, Velethuil, or Bristar as the humans call it, is a tree-dwelling community of gold, moon, and green elves set upon a bluff overlooking Lake Ereduie in the Semberwood of Deepingdale.

The village is named for the leader of the Brightstar clan, who was tragically slain by an aurochs while scouting the area for settlement. As has been the custom amongst the elves of Cormanthor for millennia, the name Velethuil has become a title bestowed upon the leader of this isolated community.

Notable for their refusal to participate in the Elven Retreat from Cormanthor in 1344, the elves of Bristar instead decided to cleave more closely to the humans and half-elves of Deepingdale, contributing the seventy strong stalwart archers of Oak Company to the Swords of Deepingdale.

The elves of Bristar brew a potent, bitter wine from the berries that grow on the shores of Lake Ereduie, as well as produce excellent bows from their carefully tended groves of yew trees.

Though warm and compassionate towards their allies in Deepingdale, foreign intruders can expect a chilly reception, as they take as their adopted duty the protection of the Sember Valley and have no interest in treasure seekers.
