Ancient capital of Narfell, this a city whose legacy of great evil is only matched by the heights to which it has been restored. It was built to be the capital of an empire, but also to be the greatest demon-binding circle ever known; whole souls of demon lords make up mere cogs in its wheels. Today, it is under the control of Rylaun Greyshade, and is populated by thousands of drow.
A demon lord, summoned by the last Nentyarch of Narfell to aid in his war against Raumathar. Originally bound to the daemoncyst in the Citadel of Conjurers in modern Impiltur, Eltab has been many places, and served many masters; he has spent long periods bound, none longer than he suffered in Thay, bound by the waters in the city of Eltabbar, whose canals were carved to form a massive binding sigil.
A mysterious group of ancient entities; no single definition prevails. Some think them to be a group of evil masterminds from beyond the Realms, others believe they are the greatest evils of the world who plot to bring forth an epic, world-ending evil in the end times. Some rare legends reference their existence as far back as the birth of the world, making them as old (or older) than Selune and Shar, and thus older than the planet itself. In such legends, it is assumed they are outsiders of some kind, but have some connection with Shar. They have been known (by a rare few) to defend Realmspace from aliens.
An evil organization. Denizens of the City of Shade, led by Telamont Tanthul. Once the city was simply known as Shade, for its resident arcanist; the personality of the Shadovar Cult was a guise assumed by the arcanist to disguise his true nature. It has become the de facto name of the organization. The word "Shadovar" is used in all contexts; there is no such word "Shadovari".
