Time
Athasian time reckoning is...complicated. The easiest way to mark time in the common era, at least nearby to Tyr, is the Free Year reckoning.
The traditional calendar is a fairly unintuitive but widely accepted mess. In the calendar of Tyr, years are counted off using a pair of concurrently running cycles; one of eleven parts, the otker of seven. Tne eleven-part, or endlean cycle, is counted and spoken first, in tne order presented below. The seven-part, or seofean cycle, is counted and spoken second. The endlean cycle is complete when Athas' two moons, Ral and Guthay, meet in the heavensβa major eclipse that occurs once every 11 years. The seofean cycle is more abstract, meeting when agitation in the cosmos leads to fury.

Free Year Reckoning
The Free Year Reckoning is a calendar system used in the city of Tyr and its surrounding regions. It is based on the year the city's Sorcerer-King, Kalak, was overthrown and the city declared its independence from his rule. The Free Year Reckoning starts with the year of Tyr's liberation, which is considered Year 0. The years are then counted forward from that point, with the current year being referred to as "Free Year X", where X is the number of years since Tyr's liberation.
