Equipment
Every character begins their adventuring career with starting equipment determined by their class and background. As they adventure, characters acquire additional gear, weapons, armor, and tools.
Starting Equipment
Each class provides a selection of starting equipment options. Additionally, your background provides extra gear relevant to your character's history.
Equipment Categories
Weapons
- Simple Weapons: Easy to use, available to most classes
- Martial Weapons: Advanced weapons requiring special training
- Ranged Weapons: Bows, crossbows, and thrown weapons
Armor
- Light Armor: Provides protection without restricting movement
- Medium Armor: Balanced protection and mobility
- Heavy Armor: Maximum protection at the cost of mobility
- Shields: Additional defense for those with proficiency
