Basic Abilities
- Sneak Attack: when you have Edge, you gain bonus damage.
Edge
You have an ephemeral attribute called "Edge", representing the amount of combat advantage you have over a defender at any given time. This attribute does not persist over time--it exists only in an instant, when considering a specific action against a specific target.
Each of these grants Edge:
- Target is unaware of you (+1)
- Target is not alert to danger (+1)
- Target is defending against other melee attackers (+1)
- Target is suffering from a partial loss-of-control effect (e.g. blindness, deafness, wracked, nauseated, etc) (+1)
- Target is suffering from a total loss-of-control effect (e.g. stunned, paralyzed, frozen (if you can someone penetrate it)) (+3)
Edge can be used to enhance your rogue actions.
Talents
Melee Combat
- Kick: reaction to spellcasting action, requires Edge, melee attack; roll unarmed attack vs Concentration; if you win, spell is lost.
- Feint: augments attack, reduces Edge by 1; as normal attack, but the first attack is a fake. Any reactions against it count against the fake attack. You then follow up with a real attack at -1 Edge.
- Swordcatcher: reaction to melee attack, requires Edge; roll opposed attack rolls, and disarm on success (also disarm self on mixed).
