Once apprenticed to Sorcerer-King Kalak, Abdul al-Hazred is a seasoned mage and scholar within the Phoenix Dawn guild. When the uprising against Kalak began, Abdul chose to uphold his moral ideals, even at the expense of his honor. Despite the positive outcome of his actions, he is not well-liked among the power players of the city, and went into private life after the rebellion.
Within Phoenix Dawn, Abdul is a trainer in matters martial and magical, pushing his students to their limits. He is known for his strict discipline and high expectations, often clashing with more lenient instructors. Abdul believes that great danger awaits the City of Tyr and all those who stood against Kalak, and he prepares his students for the worst. Despite his harsh ways, he is the fiercest protector of his students, and would gladly fight any foe to the bitter end before allowing harm to come to them.
