Nobody is entirely certain Old Fold is a fairy. It is large and slow and folded into the rhododendron, with limbs like twisted stems and broad leathery leaves, and it moves seldom enough that outsiders assume they are looking at vegetation.
There is also no agreement about where Old Fold ends. It may be one creature living inside the thicket. It may be the thicket.
