Time and Calendar
I mean, it's Earth, so there's nothing to know, right?
Well, sorta.
In the Meta, time is deterministic, linear, and unchanging. It obeys all the laws of Physics.
In the Real, that's not quite true. Cause must precede effect and all that, but history is malleable. The past can be changed, and the future can be glimpsed. The present is a point of convergence where all possible timelines meet, and the choices made in the present can ripple outwards to create new timelines.
There are creatures in the Real that remember when Earth was 6,000 years old. It's not, and that's provable, but...once, it was. And not just a molten ball of rock, but a fully formed world with plants, animals, and people. The timeline was changed, as the Universe was revised.
Usually, these changes are the work of the Creator, the Almighty One who generated our Universe from the start. But all sentient beings have the power to shape reality through their beliefs, in proportion to however small a part of the Universe they are. An individual human mind can't override reality, but all of them together, billions of them? Well, that's the Technocracy. That's Paradox.
