Zarek is a diminuative human monk, who is somewhat sure that he was from Bezantur. Like many orphans left in the city to fend for himself, he was forced into an early life of crime. In one ill-fated trip to liberate some goods in a burning building, he failed to notice a beam falling on his head. He was saved by a passing Kossuthan cleric, and thus started his decent into the faith of Kossuth. He views that the fire of his youth had tempered him, and that all problems can be solved by "enlightenment."
