Use Description

This skill is used to detect and disable traps, to open locked doors and containers, and to bypass security systems.

Detect Trap or Security System

All traps and security systems (that are not designed to be obvious) have an inherent DC to detect, determined by the DM.

(DM tip: these DCs are usually about 5 points higher than whatever nominal DC is expected at the PCs level. Passive Detection is meant to be very difficult; Active Detection should be about as easy as most checks.)

Passive Detection

All heroes may use their passive Perception to notice traps and security systems. Those trained in Security may use their Security check for this purpose, if it is superior.
