The Pirate Council, also called the Interstellar Brotherhood of Buccaneers, the Brethren Court, and the Brethren Court of the Void was during the time of the Rise of the Empire, the formal organization formed of the 8 most influential pirate bands operating in the Outer Rim territories. The brain child of the powerful and charismatic pirate lord, Celis Mott, it was intended to quell the internecine warfare between pirate fleets in the wake of the Stark Hyperspace War and to create a network of support for pirates in the face of rising aggression on behalf of corporate interests such as the Trade Federation.
