Shifter
Shifters are humanoids with bestial aspects, descended from humans and lycanthropes. They can temporarily enhance their animalistic features.
Ability Score Increase
- 2024: +2 to one ability score and +1 to another, or +1 to three different ability scores
- 2014: Varies by subrace
Age
Shifters mature around age 10 and live to about 70 years.

Key Features
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.
Keen Senses
You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Shifting
As a bonus action, you can assume a more bestial appearance. This transformation lasts for 1 minute, until you die, or until you revert to your normal appearance as a bonus action. When you shift, you gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 temporary hit point). You also gain additional benefits that depend on your shifter subrace. Once you shift, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Beasthide Shifter
- 2014: Constitution +2, Strength +1
- While shifted, you gain a +1 bonus to AC
Longtooth Shifter
- 2014: Strength +2, Dexterity +1
- While shifted, you can use your elongated fangs to make an unarmed strike as a bonus action (1d6 + Strength modifier piercing damage)
Swiftstride Shifter
- 2014: Dexterity +2, Charisma +1
- While shifted, your walking speed increases by 10 feet, and you can move up to 10 feet as a reaction when a creature ends its turn within 5 feet of you
Wildhunt Shifter
- 2014: Wisdom +2, Dexterity +1
- While shifted, you have advantage on Wisdom checks, and no creature within 30 feet of you can make an attack roll with advantage against you unless you're incapacitated
