At-will; reduces damage from one attack by your Block Rating. Must exceed attacker's hit check with your Block check. Requirements: attack must come from front arc. (Need not be targeted)
When you successfully block an attack, keep track of the damage dealt (before the block). On your next attack against the attacker within 3 rounds, you may add half this amount to the damage dealt. You can have only one such "charge" at a time.
By standing abreast of other allies who are wielding shields, you and said allies gain a bonus of +2 to Block and +5 to Block Rating per adjacent ally.
As a free action, you may increase your Block skill check by +2; for each increment you gain, you suffer -1 movement, -10% perception (enemies gain concealment) in forward arc, and -2 to Hit. Max 5 increments.
At-will, free, medium range; subject is compelled to focus hostilities on you (emotion-based effect, extraordinary). His next 3 std-action attacks must target you.
When you Block an attack, you cause the enemy to become unbalanced. He must choose either to accept a debuff (Unbalanced: unable to flank, threaten, or use passive defenses until your next move action) or be knocked prone. On a Critical Block, he falls prone anyway, and keeps the debuff. Only usable on targets up to 2 size categories above you (or 4 on a Critical Block).
While wielding a shield, you grant total cover to adjacent allies in rear arc and anyone directly opposite the attack source. (Normal: all creatures grant cover)
You may ready a standard action, triggered by your successful Block of an enemy's attack, to attack the enemy with any std-action melee attack at your disposal; when you take it, the enemy's weapon is locked up in your shield, and he cannot Parry your attack.
You threaten an area (radius = your melee reach) with your shield, in addition to any melee weapon you might be holding. When you make an attack of opportunity with your shield, instead of doing damage, you halt any movement the subject was in the middle of. He may choose to resist, prompting opposed Strength checks; if you win that check, the enemy is knocked down; otherwise, he may continue his move. This is all in addition to any other opportunity attacks you might make.
You gain 50% resistance to push/pull/slide effects, stacking with that of armor. Any attempt to use such an effect on you in melee provokes an opportunity attack.
You are so massive, with your bulging muscles, spiked plate armor, and huge shield, that it is difficult to see past you. All creatures and objects in a short cone behind you have concealment relative to those in front of you (affects enemies only).
