Beluga
BP, skills, no classes.
Progression and Numbers
At level 1, you divide 10 points between your ability scores as you choose (max 5, min -2). You gain proficiency in 5 skills.
Each level, you gain:
- 1 Build Point, which can buy any of the following:
- +1 to one ability score
- Skills:
- Proficiency in a new skill
- Expertise in a proficient skill
- Mastery in an expert skill
- One new talent (provided by your class)
Numbers
- Proficiency bonus doesn't exist
- Ability scores are expected to be somewhat higher
- Non-proficient skill checks are disadvantaged (and many uses can't be attempted)
HP and Death
- HP don't change much, but...
- Once you're out of HP, you're out of the fight (without some high-level healing). Stabilized or not, you're near-useless.
Skills
Skills represent areas of capability. They are not tied to an ability score, but rather each skill describes its specific uses, and some of those uses may be an ability score check.
New skills:
- Block
- Dodge
- Melee
- Ranged
- Unarmed
- Parry
- various Power Skills (see below)
Keep the 5eAdv caster skills, or switch back to Spellcraft/Concentration/Willpower? Or maybe Dominance? Hmm...
