The Green Age and Founding

According to the Priestess of Kalid-ma, the city was founded during the Green Age by the then-flesh-and-blood Kalid-ma, who was one of the original Champions of Rajaat. She established her city in the fertile flood plains south of Tyr, where the Kamat River met a now extinct inland sea. The city quickly became a center of grain production, with vast fields irrigated by the river and a complex system of canals and aqueducts.

While other sorcerer-kings were building great ziggurats and other palaces, she decided to harness a greater understanding of sacred geometry, crafting herself a pyramid--the first of its kind--which served as the political, geographic, and magical center of her growing realm. The pyramid took a century to finish, with the secrets of its creation still unknown and hotly debated by scholars.

The city flourished under her rule, becoming a hub of commerce and culture in the region. As the war entered its later stages, Kalid-ma was among those second-guessing Rajaat's campaign, and she gradually withdrew her forces from his war, and ultimately stood against him in the final confrontation. With Rajaat imprisoned, Kalid-ma could focus on ruling her realm.
