Odin

Odin is the Allfather β€” ruler of Asgard, sovereign of the Nine Realms, and the deepest and most patient schemer alive. He has reigned so long that the rest of the Aesir cannot remember a time before him, and he has spent that time accumulating one thing above all others: knowledge.

Odin gave an eye for a single draught of deeper sight, and would give far more. His ravens β€” call them drones, familiars, or distributed sensors β€” range across every realm and return to whisper what they have seen. From his high seat he can watch any world at once, and the world he watches most closely is Midgard, the garden he has cultivated for tens of thousands of years toward a harvest he has named to no one.

The Long Game

Odin does nothing for one reason when he can do it for seven. His guidance of human evolution, his collection of the chosen dead, his endless treaties and betrayals β€” all of it bends toward RagnarΓΆk, the end he has foreseen and labors either to prevent, to survive, or to win.

TODO: the sacrifice at the Well, the gathering of the einherjar, and the question of what Odin truly intends for Midgard.
