Midgard
Midgard is Earth β and to nearly everyone on it, the only world there is. To the Aesir it is something far more deliberate: a garden world, an experiment in directed evolution that Odin has tended for tens of thousands of years.
Humanity did not climb out of the dark unaided. At every threshold β fire, language, agriculture, the restless modern leap toward the stars β a hand was on the scale. Myths of gods who walked among men are not myths. They are records. What Odin intends to harvest from his garden, he has told no one. Some of his own court suspect the answer concerns RagnarΓΆk.
The Bifrost gate to Midgard is kept hidden and tightly controlled. Contact is forbidden without the Allfather's leave β a law broken often enough to keep the realm interesting.
