BMP
Body / Mind / Power
Primary paradigm: level X = body X mind X power X
- Secondary paradigms allow for imbalance
Level X means you have X points in each: Body, Mind, and Power.
Body/Mind/Power X means you have X points to split between the three stats of that type:
Stats
Parent | Stat |
---|---|
Body | Strength |
Body | Dexterity |
Body | Constitution |
Mind | Intelligence (Sharp) |
Mind | Wisdom (Cool) |
Mind | Charisma (Charm) |
Power | Acumen |
Power | Capacity |
Power | Control |
At level X, you have X points in Body, X in Mind, and X in Power, to divide as you please.
Skills
You also have X * Y + Z points for Body Skills, Mind Skills, and Power Skills.
- Body and Mind Skills generaly have a skill point cost
- Power Skills use the Custom Power system to compute cost
Race
Race = Level
Either take levels representing your race or origin, or pick from premade ones. There is no bonus before level 1, nor is there an expectation of always starting at level 1 or ending at 20.
Perhaps Vampire is a bundle of skills totaling 5 levels (with more optional ones later), and Dragon totals 10, and Drow totals 2. Just take those levels and you're done.
Ordinary human? Don't take any extra levels.
Numbers
Rolling a stat means:
- 1d20 + stat + 1/2 level
So if you're level 10, and you have 10 Body points, and you put 8 in Str, 2 in Dex, and 0 in Con, then:
- Your Strength roll is 1d20 + 8 + 5
- Your Dexterity roll is 1d20 + 2 + 5
- Your Constitution roll is 1d20 + 0 + 5
