Jotunheim

Jotunheim is the realm of the Jotnar β€” the "giants," though the name says more about their power than their stature. They are the Aesir's oldest rivals: an older, wilder strain of the same cosmic stock, never tamed and never assimilated. Where the Aesir impose order, the Jotnar embody the raw, unedited forces of nature β€” frost and storm, hunger and flood, the deep time before any empire.

Jotunheim itself is a brutal frontier of glaciers, shattered mountains, and seas that freeze and boil by turns. It is the one realm the Aesir have never fully brought under the branches of Yggdrasil, and the only border the empire genuinely fears. The prophecies of RagnarΓΆk all agree on one thing: when the end comes, the hosts of Jotunheim will be marching.

The Clans

TODO: the frost-clans, the fire-exiles of Muspelheim's border, and the great matriarchs.

Relations with Asgard

A tangle of war, marriage, hostage, and grudge. Half the Aesir have jotunn blood and pretend otherwise; Loki does not have to pretend at all.
