Malchor

Malchor is the high priest of Varuna in the village of Koukora, on the island of Onaona in the Dragon Isles. He was born in Rottrich, Austland, in 3914 VC (age 74).

Malchor is widely considered the most important man in the village of Koukora, and is respected as such. He came to the island in his mid-30's, along with his wife and two sons. His mission was successful, though his family was not; his wife died two years after he arrived, and his eldest son died in a boating accident. His youngest son, Franrich, left Koukora to seek employment elsewhere; he ended up serving in a detachment to a Santasian mercenary company, and perished in a tangle with Imperial forces on the Maruan coast.

The elder priest has successfully bridged the gap between the imperial and islander traditions, and entertains both the colonists' and the natives' views of the god of the sea. Though his superiors in the Mission Council believe this is not an acceptable compromise, it is largely due to his approach that the two peoples of the city are so peacefully integrated.
