Skadi
Skadi is a huntress of Jotunheim — a giant of the frozen heights who strapped on her gear and marched on Asgard alone to demand weregild for a father the gods had killed. The Aesir, impressed and a little alarmed, settled the debt with gold, with laughter, and with a marriage: she was allowed to choose a husband from among them, and chose poorly, and the match did not last.
She kept the title and the standing regardless. Skadi is one of the few Jotnar to hold a seat in Asgard on her own terms, a bridge and a fault-line between the gods and the giants — loyal to neither, watched by both, and more comfortable on a glacier than in any hall.

TODO: the weregild-march, the famously mismatched marriage to Njord, and her hand in the binding of Loki.
