Njord

Njord is lord of seas, winds, and the wealth that moves upon them — the elder statesman of the Vanir and one of the hostages exchanged to seal the great peace at the end of the Aesir–Vanir War. He sits in Asgard's council as a guarantee of his people's good faith, a guest who is also a prisoner, a lord who governs his ancestral seas at one remove.

He is patient where his children are fierce, conciliatory where they are proud. He has made his peace with the empire — or appears to have. Trade follows Njord; fortunes are made and lost on his goodwill; and a great deal of intelligence flows along the same routes as his ships.
