The Vanir
The Vanir are the people of Vanaheim — an older lineage than the Aesir, masters of life, growth, prophecy, and the deep psionic art the old tongue calls seidr. They met the Aesir as equals, fought them to a standstill, and ended the Aesir–Vanir War with a binding peace and an exchange of hostages.
Today the Vanir are "honored" members of the empire — seated among the Aesir, married into their house, and never entirely trusted by either side. The greatest of them remember a time before Asgard, and not all of them have forgiven it.
