Azzrik
An unknown entity seeming to inhabit an ornate shortsword found in the depths of Hawkshill Manor in Arabel, Cormyr, by the Worthy Blades in the Year of the Crown (1351).
Appearance
The Weapon
The shortsword's blade is approximately 15 inches long and appears to be made entirely of magically treated lead. Though it possesses the dull gray color and oddly slick surface of lead, it is as hard as steel and the edges are mercilessly sharp. It has an odd curve to it, and a cutting edge, making it suitable for both stabbing and slashing work. There is no appreciably crossguard or shield. The hilt of the weapon is made of solid gold, also somehow hardened and fashioned into the form of a wingless dragon of unknown type. The blade emerges from the dragon's opened mouth, and it's tail curls around an cut ruby the size of wren's egg. Ruby chips are set into the dragon's eyes. The grip is textured like scales and is unusually warm to the touch.
The Spirit
As seen by Rohan, the spirit calling itself Azzrik dwells in a shabby, shadowed mage's study next to a too large hearth in disrepair. An ancient human mage sits uncomfortably close to the roaring fire. His eyes are a rheumy sky blue, covered with white cataracts. His hair, likely once black has turned iron gray and wispy, barely covering his liver spotted pate. A craggy, thin, wrinkled face bears a thin, unkempt gray goatee, extending to his chest. His robes are too dirty to discern color, covered with dust and cobwebs, and the hands that emerge are thin and bony, with untrimmed nails black with grime.
