Elmdaerle
Elmdaerle, known by the common folk as the "Herb Man", is the owner of the Falcon's Rest Inn in the Temple District of Arabel. He is well regarded as a sage of the flora and fauna of Cormyr and the Dragon Reach lands, as well as a minor mage, apothecary, and taxidermist of great skill and artistry.
Appearance
A thin, elderly gentleman of refined bearing and aristocratic features. His hair is iron gray and worn tied back to shoulder length. His beard is close cropped and neatly trimmed. His blue eyes are aided by silver spectacles perched upon a hawk-like nose. He dresses in the garb of an eminently successful merchant, in tasteful dark colors. His hands are strong and bear the calluses of his work with needle and thread.
Personality
Elmdaerle is considered by all who know him as a kindly, refined gentleman mage. He is both an avid teacher and student with a passion for knowledge of the natural world, and the stranger creatures in it. His only notable flaw is to regard all the non-humanoid creatures of the world more as subjects to be studied than as (in the case of many of them), thinking, sentient creatures.
