Sembia
Changes from canon:
- Sembia was not conquered by Netheril in 1374, as the City of Shade had been largely defanged by Dorian and co.
- Therefore, Ordulin was not destroyed.
- However, the civil war was still in full force. The details are tortuously complex, but in the end, there emerged a single, clear winner: the House of Ordulin.
- King Alphonse d'Ordulin was a wealthy merchant lord (some might say mob boss, but most of them are dead) who used to city on the city's merchant council. He's a sort of Johnny Marcone type figure.
- His son and heir apparent, Renaud d'Ordulin, is possessed of legendary charisma, and a sort of folk hero to the realm. An adventurer by trade, he has many accomplishments to his name, and is perceived to be more or less untainted by the dirty politics that put his father in power. As such, the realm is hopeful for their future.
