Lizardfolk
The lizardfolk, or, collectively, Mon'hes'seth, are a race of reptilian humanoids native to the Dragon Isles.
Lizard-folk are natives to the islands that are collectively known as the Dragon Isles. They are a tribal folk who have lived and thrived in the low swampy islands of the Dragon Isles. They have internalized the cycle of life, and view the death of one of their own as a sadness, but they will use them as fully as they use all the animals that they hunt and kill for prey.
Roleplaying a Lizard
The lizard-folk were not given the gifts that the other races were given. They don't have the massive magical potential of humanity, nor do they have the extended life-spans of the elves and dwarves. Instead, they have the determination to live and a powerful set of adaptations to their environment that makes them powerful hunters and warriors.
When humanity came to the islands, the Lizard-folk were largely ignored since they occupied the most forsaken stretches of land in all the islands, but they came to the attention of the human settlers when they raided a human civilization because the humans had driven off the wild animals to make way for their farms. This series of skirmishes ended with a truce which had to humans giving domesticated animals to the Lizard-Folk as a peace offering. Now the Lizards enjoy a neutral relationship with humanity, each trading with to other to acquire what they on their own cannot. Given their excellent swimming ability, Lizard-folk are able to provide a great many pearls that wizards make seek for use in magical spells. Lizard-folk are also often hired as guides when Mages travel to provide some level of protection from the tribes that refused the settlement and left for islands further along the chain.
Lizard-Folk are a physical race, with most of their adventures being fighters or barbarians. Those who seek magical potenial are often shamans.
