Legendary Feats

At level 10+, you can select legendary feats instead of ancestry/class/general feats. Sometimes. TBD.

Rank

Determines which rank of powers you can access.

Determines the damage you deal with proficient weapons / powers:

Rank Light Dmg Medium Dmg Heavy Dmg
1 1d4 + 1/2 stat 1d8 + stat 1d12 + 1.5 stat
2 2d4 + 1/2 stat 2d8 + stat 2d12 + 1.5 stat
3 3d4 + 1/2 stat 3d8 + stat 3d12 + 1.5 stat
4 4d4 + 1/2 stat 4d8 + stat 4d12 + 1.5 stat
5 5d4 + 1/2 stat 5d8 + stat 5d12 + 1.5 stat

Why? Damage should scale with player level. In some systems, this is accomplished by giving martials more attacks per round while scaling up damage on high-level spells. This approach is preferred; it's easier to balance, and more attacks per round slows down combat. If martials need to hit multiple targets, there are other ways to do that.

Proficiency Bonus

Proficiency Bonus is added to all checks and saves with which your character is proficient.

Non-proficient check: 1d20 + stat bonus

Proficient check: 1d20 + proficiency bonus + stat bonus

Skills

Everybody gets 4 skills at 1st level. Traditionally, 2 come from ancestry/background and 2 come from class, although honestly I don't care, just take 4 of them. They're hardly game-breaking.

At level 5, 9, 13, and 17, you gain another skill. You can either gain proficiency in a new skill, or gain Expertise in a proficient skill.

Expertise means you can roll that skill with advantage once per encounter.

Ancestry Feats

Your ancestry has a list of feats you can take which unlock ancestral abilities. You receive one of these for free at level 1.

Background Feats

yeah

Class Feats

Your class has a list of feats you can take which unlock class-specific abilities. You receive one of these for free at level 1.

Class Feats include traditional "subclass" abilities as well as more general abilities specific to your class.

General Feats

When you gain a General Feat, you may select one of:
