To take any language requires a feat, as usual. However, you can learn two languages with one feat, as long as you already know one language from the same group for both chosen languages.
- Tirrith/Ascadian Languages
- Ascadian is the Court Tongue, and thus the lingua franca of the Court of the Oath. The most commonly-spoken tongue in Oathkeep is Uldennic, the native language of the King. All of these languages derive from Old Ascadian, which is actually a language incorporating elements of Old Tirrith atop Old Ascadian, and was the dominant language of the First Kingdom. It is not particularly hard for a native speaker of any of these languages to understand basic ideas expressed in another.
- Ahrimid Languages
- Juni Languages
- Hin is the most widely-spoken language outside the Junean Holds, and the Hin are also the most widely-traveled folk (thus most adventurers are likely to be Hin).
