A Faerie stands roughly three inches tall, about a twenty-fourth of a human, and areas scale by the square of that. The entire Faerie Kingdom — twelve provinces, a dozen races, six million subjects — therefore occupies about 225 square kilometers of the human world: a large county, a national park, one unusually generous landowner's estate. A human could walk its length in a long weekend. A Sylph, flying in the short bursts her wings allow, needs a season and a good reason.

All areas below are given in real (human) square kilometers. Populations count people by the Kingdom's definition, which is to say Faeries and Goblins only; the non-Faerie population of any region outnumbers the official figure by somewhere between five and fifty times, and appears in no census.
