Class Features
Focus
You have a special attribute called "Focus". This represents your ability to enhance your prowess through heightened awareness.
Your Focus is equal to 1 + rank:
- Level 1-4: 2
- Level 5-9: 3
- Level 6-14: 4
- Level 15-19: 5
- Level 20+: 6
Focus is something like Reserve, in that you "slot" an amount of Focus to maintain certain effects. All monks have access to all effects listed below, at the appropriate level. You may only slot an effect once; you may not stack its effects by paying the cost multiple times. It is a free action to change your Focus allotment.
- Rank 1
- Offensive Awareness: You are keenly aware of your opponent's movement and defenses. Gain +100% AP physical damage per rank with melee attacks.
- Defensive Awareness: You are focused upon your enemy's hostile intentions, predicting them before they occur. Gain 20% avoidance against attacks and targeted spells versus one foe, or 10% against all foes. This stacks with any defensive feats.
- Spiritual Awareness: You are attuned to the flow of energy around you. Gain +100% SP with spells.
- Rank 2
- Evasion: You predict danger before it occurs, gaining 50% resistance to area effects. Against any area effect allowing a saving throw, you suffer no effect on a successful save, even if the effect is normally partial.
- Purity of Body: You breathe deeply of life-giving air, expelling negative energy with each breath. You gain Fast Healing 1/level, and gain +10 to saving throws against poison and disease effects. Against those not allowing a saving throw, you may attempt a saving throw each round to end the effect.
- Still Mind: You empty your mind of thoughts, focusing only on pure will and awareness of the world. You gain a 50% avoidance chance against all mental effects. If this Focus is active when you succumb to a mental effect, its chance applies each round as a chance to end the effect.
- Rank 3
- Diamond Body: You freeze your lifeblood, becoming immune to bleed effects and poisons. If activated while such an effect is in place, the effect is suppressed until this Focus is ended, or until its original duration expires.
- Purity of Spirit: You allow your spirit to fill with the essence of Void, cleansing it of impurities. You may dispel one magic or curse effect upon yourself per round.
- Timeless Perception: Your perception of the world accelerates; all things seem to move slower around you. You gain an additional move and swift action each round. This does not stack with Haste and similar effects.
