- Conditioning: Physical fitness, stamina, and the mental faculties to succeed in athletic pursuits.
- Creativity: The je ne sais quoi of artistic expression, and also useful for just about everything.
- Social Skills: Every manner of social interaction.
- Knowledge: The amount of learned knowledge a character has.
- Technical Skill: Practical methods and techniques for solving real-life problems.
- Perception: From intuition to visual acuity.

At level 1, all characters receive 10 points.
The rating sets the default success rate of any skill check based on those foundations.
Skills
All skills are a member of one of the above foundation skills.
In each skill, you may invest 0 to 5 ranks (limit: character rank). You gain 5 ranks of whatever skill you like at level 1, and 1 more every even level.
Skills are rated as either "trained" or "untrained". Trained skills require at least one rank of training even to attempt.
