Venom
Venom describes a category of poison which can be applied to weapons and administered by inflicting damage with that weapon.
It is a standard action to apply poison to a weapon. The poison wears off after being exposed to the air for one minute. If you poison a weapon then sheath it, the poison will not begin to wear off until the weapon is unsheathed.
Poisons have a number of charges. Each time the weapon does damage, the poison is applied, and one charge is used. When all charges have been used, the poison wears off the weapon, and no more charges will be applied.
The price listed is for one charge of poison. You can put more than one charge of poison into a single application, allowing you to inflict the poison multiple times with multiple attacks.

Numbing Poison
This poison causes a deadening of nerves in the area where it strikes. This imposes damages the subject's Dexterity.

Burning Poison
This poison causes severe inflammation, damaging the surrounding tissue. Creatures resistant to fire damage are also highly resistant to inflammation.

Sleep Poison
This neurotoxin causes the victim to sink into a deep sleep. It is only fully effective if the subject is in a calm, relaxed state, as most potential victims normally are in their daily lives. If the subject is alert, it inflicts only minor fatigue (-1 penalty to attacks, saves, and checks).
In other words, it only works if the subject is out of combat.
