Traits

  • Combat Casting: Normally, when you cast a spell, it provokes an attack of opportunity, and any damage suffered during casting is added to the Spellcraft DC of the casting action. However, you may choose to cast defensively, in which case you do not provoke, but instead cannot skip the Spellcraft check (generally DC 10 + 5 per spell rank). Failure on the check means you lose the spell, but you still don't provoke.
  • Focused Metamagic: You may forego the DC modifier of any Metamagic effect which increases Spellcraft DC by spending 1 Focus per +5. If you mitigate all DC modifiers in this way, you need not roll the Spellcraft check.
  • Spell Mantle: You may create a Spell Mantle, which is a group of powers whose normal casting time is one swift action or less, for which the target is you. When activated, all spells become active at once, following normal rules. The maximum number of spells in this mantle is equal to 2 per Concentration rank.

Traits

  • Take 5: You may "take 5" on any Spellcraft check where rolling is required. You simply assume a die roll of 5 and apply your modifiers accordingly, with no chance to roll lower than 5 or roll a natural 1.
