Duration
In brief:
- Instantaneous: happens instantly, any permanent effects are the natural result of the initial effect, as opposed to "permanent"
- Permanent: effect lasts forever, but can be dispelled or otherwise removed
- X rounds: lasts until the end of the Xth round after the one in which it began.
- Ongoing damage that lasts X rounds will inflict damage on turn start for the next X turns. It will be considered to have ended as soon as the last damage is inflicted, as opposed to the end of said round.
- X minutes/hours/days/etc: as X rounds
- Save ends: some sort of skill (e.g. Willpower or Fortitude) can be used to end. On turn start, subject may attempt said skill check, against a DC you set (as noted in effect description); on success, the duration ends immediately, and on failure, it continues. By default, there is no limit to how long it will last, should the subject continue to fail the skill checks.
- Reserve: lasts as long as you Reserve the required resource, ends immediately when you cease to reserve it.
