Description |
The area becomes consecrated ground. This has the same effect as a magical threshold specific to a faith, that being:
- Extraplanar creatures may not enter. If they are present at casting time, they are compelled to flee the region before taking any other action (Will to resist each round, with cumulative -5 penalty; on successful resist, subject suffers heavy holy damage).
- It is possible for powerful creatures to wear down a threshold so that they can enter. This usually takes time and the consumption of significant magical energy. TBD
- Undead, and any other creature animated entirely by magic which is antithetical to your faith, are affected in the same manner as extraplanar creatures.
- Extraplanar (and other unholy) creatures cannot extend any effect from outside the region to inside it, such as extending a limb or casting a spell. It is possible to affect the inside through indirect means, such as by undermining the physical structure in which the spell exists (burn the house down, in other words), or even to throw a nonmagical projectile that is not of extraplanar origin across the boundary.
- Anyone with magic, other than your allies and anyone you specifically invite into the threshold, cannot access their magic within the area.
- It is possible to power through this limitation with extreme application of Willpower. TBD
- Should anyone welcome within the threshold choose to leave its radius, the spell ends. Similarly, any attempt to affect those outside the threshold, such as casting a spell or attacking across the perimeter, will end the spell immediately.
